Not to risk that the wrong person should be celebrated if others from the hotel would also know, Sharon told the persons at the reception that it was not her birthday. Then they wrote a new birthday card, this time for Rune.
We arrived at the beach at around 10.30am and stayed there until around 2pm. We had lunch at the Beach Club which is our hotel's lunch restaurant at the beach. Sharon had Döner Kebab and Rune had a Tuna sandwich.
After taking a shower and changing back in the hotel, we drove by the Dolmus to the city of Side, heading for the old city. It was hot waiting for the bus. Sharon was waiting in the shadow. Rune was waiting in the sun, knowing that hot and sunny weather in Norway is very rare...!
We were staying in the old city; walking around, sitting down, taking pictures and so on.
At 7.30pm, we had a dinner reservation at a restaurant recommended of Lonely Planet. We had a nice table at the sea, enjoying a nice lamb meal. Since it was Rune's birthday, we also ordered a cake which was brought to our table with the lights turned off, happy birthday song in the loud speakers, clapping from the other guests, and song and fire works handed by the waiters. That was quite a moment!!!
Nice eating outside when the temperature is 35 degrees Celsius at 9pm!
Together with our waiter "Dagfinn from Kongsvinger".
The cake was delicious! We could not eat all, so we gave the rest to those working in the restaurant.
The woman making Rune's day, my beautful wife, of course got 3 red roses from her husband.
Thank you to all of you who were wishing Rune happy birthday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRnglbi_k6U&feature=youtu.be
